Follow on Google News | Ooberfuse’s New Single We Are One Offers Hope to Those Suffering From Human Rights ViolationsBy: Ooberfuse Dedicated to the Human Rights cause, We Are One—a musical collaboration between Archbishop Bashar Matti Warda of Erbil, Iraq and Ooberfuse—debuts on March 1, 2015. Sung in the same ancient Aramaic dialect that Jesus spoke, We Are One is a prayer offering hope to the persecuted minorities in Iraq. “It is easy to become desensitised by the horror stories graphically depicted in the daily newspapers. Hearing Archbishop Warda speak about the relentless and hidden sufferings of persecuted minorities in Iraq is sobering and brings the gruesome reality closer to home. Our song with Archbishop Warda is our small way of saying that we stand united with those suffering in Iraq. We have not forgotten them. We belong to one common humanity ‘if one member suffer, all the members suffer with it [1 Corinthians 12:26],’” says Cherrie Anderson, the band leader, about the motivation behind the music.
