. BeefJerky.Rocks is the Beef Jerky branch of the company that offers dried meat snacks. Some of the the dried meat products that the website will offer are Rockin' Teriyaki, Rockin Sriracha, Rockin' Original, Rockin' BBQ and Rockin' Hot flavored beef jerky. Along with these four base flavors that will be offered are occasional promotional flavors that differ from season to season such as Rocktoberfest which will be an apple cider based jerky and the ShamRockin' Jerky which is a Guinness base jerky. "The Beef Jerky industry has exploded in the last few years and Saginaw Snacks is looking forward to being a part of that growth" says Jim Sokol, president and CEO of the company. Retail sales of meat snacks in convenience stores reached $836 million in 2008. Convenience stores account for more than 72% of sales while grocery stores account for about 20%. The Nielsen Company estimates that the total sale of meat snacks has grown 65% since 2003 and reached about $1.2 billion in 2008. However, a recent report indicates that only 40% of U.S. households purchase meat snacks according to the Agricultural Marketing Center.
