Follow on Google News | The IATP Advocates for Optimal Safety Standards in Trampoline Parks WorldwideBy: International Association of Trampoline Parks Hershey, Pennsylvania - The indoor trampoline park industry is one of the fastest growing segments of the amusement industry. It is estimated that by the end of 2015 there will be over 550 indoor trampoline parks open worldwide. As the industry continues to grow globally, the International Association of Trampoline Parks’ (IATP) number one focus will be to promote safety standards and provide resources to encourage patron education to ensure park owners both in the United States and abroad are operating their parks with optimal jumper’s safety as their top priority. The IATP promotes the safety recommendations and standards established by ASTM International that address the design, manufacture, operation, installation and maintenance of indoor trampoline parks and establish a safe level of construction and operational conformity among parks. The recent shutdown of the Ryze indoor trampoline park in Edinburgh, Scotland has brought forth the importance of proper operating procedures, staff education and certification in the indoor trampoline park industry. While we cannot comment on the specific operations of their park or the quality of their equipment, we are available to them as an industry resource. IATP Chairman Jeff Platt stated, “We have initiated discussions with Ryze officials to determine how the IATP could best offer our services and resources to assist with their efforts.” The IATP was created in 2012 under the guiding principles of ensuring the integrity, transparency and innovation of the indoor trampoline park industry and to promote safe operations, facilitate commercial success and stimulate growth. It is the mission of the IATP to be regarded as an essential resource and the international authority for our industry. End
