| Local NC Non Profit Welcomes New Board Of Directors During Milestone YearThe Green Chair Project installs new board members and celebrates five years of growth

Ryan Lynch of Wells Fargo Bank; Olalah Njenga of YellowWood Group and Mary Reca Todd formerly with NC Housing Finance Agency. These newly installed board members will join existing board members: Merrill Mason of Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan (Board Chair); Anne Hogewood, Community Volunteer (Vice President); Alex Lehmann of McMillan Pate & Co. LLP (Treasurer); Scott Boyette of Alfred Williams; Rick Miller-Haraway, of Catholic Charities; Kim Shirley of Oak City Infill and Beth Smoot, Co-founder, The Green Chair Project and realtor with Fonville Morisey. In its 5th year of “reusing furnishings, renewing lives,” The Green Chair Project has helped 2,750 individuals, furnished 1,000 households, accepted and reused 25,000 pieces of furniture from 5,000 community members. In 2015, The Green Chair Project projects to provide furniture assistance to 390 families enabling them to live in safe, comfortable and sustainable homes. “The Green Chair Project is going into its fifth year with a renewed mission anchored by a clear strategic plan that the Board of Directors is excited about executing. I am thrilled to have a powerful combination of experience, capabilities and perspectives on our Board of Directors,” says Executive Director Jackie Craig. The Green Chair Project’s major fundraiser is an annual event called “Heart & Home” a house warming benefit. This year’s benefit will be held April 18th at The Green Chair Project’s location, 1853 Capital Boulevard, Raleigh from 6:30p-9:30p.
