Innovative Medical Products Exhibits Positioning Solutions at 2015 AORN Surgical Expo

The Humbles TrenWrap® is a new positioning pad system with two unique features that securely anchor a patient prior to positioning in Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg for robotic and laparoscopic surgeries. The system’s Pre-Load™ Rail Clamps secure the straps of the positioning base pad, locking the pad tightly in position to the OR table’s side rails. There are no straps or restraints covering the patient’s chest. The TrenWrap® also uses the proprietary Phase 4™ adhesive material that applies directly to the patient’s skin, anchoring the patient securely to the TrenWrap® positioning pad system.

IMP’s patented MorphBoard® modular pegboard positioning system, along with its two modular end boards, features a lightweight center board that can be easily adjusted to accommodate an obese patient’s large abdomen. The MorphBoard®’s 20” wide, 30” long, center board, when rotated 90 degrees and combined with the two end boards, “morphs” into a 30” wide section large enough to support most obese patients. The MorphBoard® enables OR personnel to simply roll patients onto their sides for easy stabilization using the various peg-hole locations. This eliminates any strenuous lifting of the patient into an exact location as with other positioning systems.

The De Mayo Universal Distractor®, used in conjunction with the De Mayo Knee Positioner®, is a sterile external device that allows the surgeon to precisely and independently control the distraction of the knee joint.

The new De Mayo Push Button™ Clamp significantly reduces OR set-up time as it is fastened to the operating table simply by squeezing its top and bottom jaws closed on the table’s rail and then tightened with a twist of the device’s knob. The clamp is quickly and easily removed by pushing the buttons on the device, lowering the bottom jaw of the clamp. Clamps can be sterilized and used over the drapes, or non-sterile and attached directly to the side rail. The clamp, manufactured in three different configurations, can be used with the De Mayo Knee Positioner® and De Mayo Ankle Distractor™ systems.

The De Mayo Hip Positioner® is a complete hip positioning system that secures very obese patients in the lateral position. The positioner can be ‘built up’ around the patient so OR personnel don’t have to lift the patient on the positioner, avoiding strenuous exertion and minimizing the risk of a work-related injury.

IMP’s Universal Lateral Positioner® is ideal for any surgery requiring the patient to be fixed in a stable, lateral decubitus position.

IMP’s lint-free, single-use Universal SteriBump® positioner eliminates the possibility of cross contamination. Its guaranteed sterility also frees up operating room scrub techs, nurses, or physician assistants from having to hold a limb during certain surgical procedures or having to bundle together sterile towels and other cloths to create a make-shift limb support, saving valuable OR and Sterile Processing Department’s time.

IMP’S SuperBump™ makes leg positioning during surgical knee procedures simpler than ever, eliminating the need for OR personnel to go under surgical drapes to reposition make-shift bumps or barriers. The sterile, single-use SuperBump™ is designed to accept two, five-pound weights for additional stability and can be positioned on top of the sterile drapes at any location on the operating table.

TUFFease® gel pads protect the patient’s bony prominences from becoming a pressure sore. The gel pad covering is made with a softer, more supple cover for added patient protection, and is more resistant to tearing.
