Follow on Google News | ![]() Humanists & Freethinkers of Cape Fear Host Journalist Janet Heimlich Talk on Child AbuseAward Winning Author of "Breaking Their Will: Shedding Light on Religious Child Maltreatment" Janet Heimlich to tackle the issue of religious childhood abuse and how the Humanist community can work with other groups to confront the problem.
By: Humanists and Freethinkers of Cape Fear Heimlich will discuss how religious individuals and organizations are joining secularists in confronting religious child maltreatment, and explore ways that secularists and humanists can work collaboratively to combat this critically important social problem. Janet Heimlich is an award-winning journalist and the author of "Breaking Their Will: Shedding Light on Religious Child Maltreatment," Heimlich has been a freelance reporter for National Public Radio, and has written articles for a number of publications in Texas. She has won nine journalism awards, including a “Radio Journalist of the Year” Lone Star Award. She received a B.A. in Communications from Stanford University in 1984.
