Follow on Google News | Willie Aames returning to televisionOrlando, Florida- March, 12, 2015 In the 1970’s and 80’s, Willie Aames was one of the hottest stars on television appearing as Tommy Bradford in Eight is Enough and Buddy Lembeck in Charles in Charge. Five years ago, Willie began a new life at sea and now the former TV star turned Cruise Director is hoping to return to television in a show called Best at Sea (http://www.bestatsea.com/) Willie says “when I first started working on a cruise ship, I realized why Love Boat was such a popular television show. It is fun being on a cruise. Then, I began to think about a show about life at sea. I met Tom Drake who has been a stand- up comedian on ships for 20 years and Tom had written a show about entertainers working on ships and I really liked the concept and the script. It is not another Love Boat. It is a show about entertainers working on a cruise ship who agree to help stage a reality show talent competition for television. Of course, they do not know anything about producing for television. They are ship acts. They are also a crazy group that includes Michael Minor (http://www.michaelminor.com/ The show is full of great storylines and laughs and each episode will feature performances by actual entertainers who are performing at sea. I know viewers will be very surprised at the high quality of the entertainment on ships at sea. I know I was. It is a whole new world out there at sea and I think Best A Sea will not only be a very funny, entertaining family show, it will also deliver great positive exposure to the cruise industry which lately seems to only receive negative press. Right now, I am pitching Tom’s idea to agents and producers from my Hollywood days. I am hopeful that we will find a home for the show. This year, 24 million people will take a cruise. I’m certain that many of them would enjoy watching a very funny show about life at sea. In the meantime, I am helping Tom launch a Kickstarter crowd funding campaign to see if we can gather the funds needed to film an actual first episode. I know Tom has found a cruise ship on which we can film episode number one, so now we just need the funding. Tom hopes to launch the crowd funding campaign very soon and I am happy to help. I am very excited about getting this project up and running”. Contact: Tom Drake tomdrake@ www.bestatsea.com End
