THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - March 10, 2015 - PRLog -- Infusion for Health is now open in Thousand Oaks to provide infusion therapy in a private, relaxed setting while under medical supervision.

Infusion therapy involves multiple doctor-prescribed injections of medications. It is often needed by patients with autoimmune disorders such as Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and with infections including wound infections, chronic urinary tract infections and sepsis. Infusion for Health has specific treatment rooms with HEPA filters to minimize pathogen cross-contamination and hospital-acquired type infections.

Other patients needing infusion therapy are those requiring hydration to help with morning sickness, and patients experiencing electrolyte imbalances and dehydration. Injections can take minutes or as long as two hours or more to complete.

“Up until now, patients had the option of receiving therapy at a doctor’s office, hospital or at home. Doctors’ offices and hospitals are not usually very pleasant settings for treatment,” says Dr. Gholam Mohammadzadeh, a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon in Thousand Oaks and Infusion for Health’s medical director. “Treatments can be administered at home, which is comfortable for patients, but the nurse who starts the treatment usually leaves once treatment begins so patients are left on their own. That could mean trouble if something goes wrong. Infusion for Health is the first infusion service of its kind in the Conejo Valley and surrounding areas that combines the comfort of home with the medical care of a hospital.”

Infusion for Health patients receive therapy in private suites with flat screen televisions, Internet connections, iPods and warm blankets. Healthy snacks and beverages are available. Nurses monitor patient progress throughout the treatment. Patients can push a button to call for a nurse if the need arises.

Infusion for Health is in-network for most insurance plans and is a Medicare participant. “The cost for infusion therapy at Infusion for Health is lower than hospital infusion treatments but in a much more private, more patient-centered setting,” says Mohammadzadeh. “What’s more, we coordinate therapy with the prescribing physicians so patients can be assured that the care they receive here is in accordance with their doctor’s instructions.”

Infusion for Health is at 77 Rolling Oaks Dr., Suite 201, Thousand Oaks. For more information go to www.InfusionForHealth.com or call 805-719-3700.
