Rogers, the rookie from Rose, Oklahoma, won $43,000 in October during his professional debut as a bull rider. The Eldorado Resort Casino Shreveport Tuff Hedeman Championship Bull Riding is the tenth stop of the CBR’s Mahindra Road to Cheyenne Tour. In addition to Kimzey and Rogers, twenty-four bull riders will compete in a tournament style competition with twelve advancing to a semifinal round and then a four man Shoot Out round. Up for grabs is $30,000 in prize monies and valuable points needed to qualify for the CBR World Finals in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where one cowboy will be crowned CBR World Champion and take home the $100,000 bonus check. With only four tour stops left, the race is on and it is a horse race. One qualified ride by any of the top five ranked cowboys and the leader board will change. Also competing will be Cody Teel, the 2012 PRCA World Champion Bossier Champion; Juan Alonzo, Weslaco, Texas, who recently retired from the United States Army after serving his country in Afghanistan; Competing for the first time on special invitation from Tuff Hedeman are Joe and Josh Frost, cousins of the late Lane Frost, the famed bull rider whose life was portrayed in the movie 8 Seconds. They are making their first appearance at a Championship Bull Riding event. Joe won rounds one and five at the National Finals Rodeo in December to finish second in the average and the 2014 PRCA World Standings. CBR has become known for its action-packed performances that keep fans on the edge of their seats. That is largely due to the influence of four-time world champion bull rider Tuff Hedeman who coordinates every element and attends to the smallest details.
