PENTA Mobile Field Inspections named a Top Product by Constructech

iPad App Makes Complex Inspections More Consistent and Drives Service Sales

MILWAUKEE - March 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Penta Technologies, a leading developer of enterprise software for construction and field service firms, announced that Constructech magazine named the PENTA Mobile Field Inspections (http://www.penta.com/mobile-field-inspections-software.html) iPad app a top new commercial product. Winners are selected based on various criteria, including the product’s overall usefulness to and uniqueness within the construction industry and overall customer growth rate.

PENTA Mobile Field Inspections reinforces a consistent methodology even when the inspection process is highly complex. This makes technicians more productive when conducting inspections and reporting. The integrated inspections engine provides the ability to maintain any question set, from standard inspection questions to preventative maintenance or commissioning checklists, helping your organization provide the highest level of service to your customers. Standard question sets can be built and maintained for equipment classifications and tasks (Quarterly Inspection, Preventive Maintenance Checklist, etc.). Additional question exceptions can be specified by regulatory agency, specific equipment or customer, or any equipment attribute, such as manufacturer, model, or equipment age.

Within each question set, you can specify:
Possible answers.
Specify the data type of the answer, answer format for special codes, and a list of possible answers.
Which answers trigger deficiencies. Deficiency rules can be built on the answer value, how it compares to acceptable ranges, answers to other questions in the set and a variety of other business rule comparisons. Deficiencies can directly generate customer-facing quote documents for repair of the selected deficiencies, boosting service revenues and profits.
Branching rules. Based on an answer, you can build rules to branch to other questions in the inspection.  This provides an inspection experience that is tailored to only ask what is necessary.
Association with industry codes. For example, NFPA 25 codes for companies inspecting fire protection equipment.

Inspections can be completed on an iPad or recorded in the back office. A history of every inspection, question and answer is maintained for future reference, whether it is to review a previous answer or to perform failure analysis. These histories are accessible in the back office and by the technician in the field via the hand-held device.

“While many apps allow for basic inspection management, PENTA Mobile Field Inspections is unique in that it adds the ability to handle complex, branched questions sets,” stated Penta Technologies VP of Technology, Brad Blaney. “It’s the ability to handle highly-complicated inspections that makes this app so valuable for large commercial fire protection and industrial process piping contractors.”
