D-Orbit’s growing reputation within the European Space Agency and the European Commission

MILAN - March 16, 2015 - PRLog -- On March 17^th and 18^th, the European Space Agency will host at their ESTEC technical headquarters in the Netherlands, a Technical Day on Deorbiting Strategies, followed by a CleanSat Workshop. These two events will mark an important milestone for the young Italian company D-Orbit as it will have the opportunity to present its innovative technology as a leading solution for space debris mitigation, capable of benefitting numerous operators in the space sector.

The two-day workshop is designed as a forum to discuss space debris mitigation practices among the most important players in the European space industry, to seek a solution to the most incumbent threat to scientific progress and all future space missions. The forum will be a platform capable of proposing effective recommendations to be adopted in order to generate positive results within European space programs, allowing the Old World to become the undisputed leader in clean space among all global competitors.

The interactive sessions will be distinguished by their innovative and highly technological interventions proposed by the leading researchers and policy makers that have for so long fought to provide effective mitigation regulations to decrease space pollution. Among them, Mr. Luca Rossettini, CEO and founder of D-Orbit, will present its research on “A long-term space debris mitigation approach based on independent decommissioning device for satellite and launcher space”.

After winning the ITT ESA Thrust Vector Control System for Solid Propellant De-Orbit Motors study, in partner with the leading actors in the space industry, and after having signed the first grant agreement with the European Commission for the new H2020 framework on SME Instrument-Phase 1, D-Orbit has once again shown to be increasingly involved in providing innovative solutions for space debris mitigation.
