Tec-Masters & PROJECTXYZ receive Nunn-Perry Award

(Mentor) and PROJECTXYZ (Protégé) received the prestigious 2014 Nunn-Perry Award from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP). One of only fourteen nationwide awards given in 2014, this recognition is due to their commitment and superb performance in the DoD Mentor-Proté
gé Program.
The award, named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, was first awarded in 1995 and recognizes Mentor-Proté
gé Teams that have excelled in the areas of technical assistance, returns on investment, quality, Protégé development, and increased business opportunities for Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDBs). The award was received at an invitation-only ceremony at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA.
The DoD Mentor-Proté
gé Program assists small businesses to successfully compete for prime contract and subcontract awards by partnering them with large companies under individual, project-based agreements. Successful Mentor-Proté
gé agreements provide a winning relationship for the Protégé, the Mentor, and the DoD.
Highlighting the success of the Mentor-Proté
gé Program, PROJECTXYZ, a Minority Woman-Owned, 8(a) Certified Small Business headquartered in Huntsville, AL, is now a successful Small Business Prime Contractor providing Healthcare Consulting, Project Management, Information Technology, Engineering, and Prototype/Fabrication Services. Oakwood University assisted Tec-Masters in training the Protégé in quality systems.
