Aluminium Access Walkways, Overport Durban

DURBAN, South Africa - March 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Overport City Walkways

Alifab designed, manufactured and installed a series of access walkways in the recent refurbishment of the Overport Mall. The refurbishment has given the mall a bright and breezy new lease on life.

The walkways appear at the top of the atrium area where they not only give access to feature gardens but will also assist with maintenance of the building. The rugged looks of the walkway installation make then a feature by themselves!

The walkways are all aluminium in construction and are connected to the steel structure using suitable joints to ensure no corrosion takes place. The walkways use AMPLIGRIP as the floor grating as it is ideally suited to this type of application.

The corrosion resistant aluminium ensures that the installation will remain maintenance free for many years to come. The light weight of aluminium made sure installation was simple and easy, in addition to this the use of aluminium has reduced the dead loads created by the installation of the walkways on the roof trusses.
