HOUSTON - March 19, 2015 - PRLog -- The USDA Food and Nutrition Service released its final rule on professional standards in school nutrition at School Nutrition Association’s annual Legislative Action Conference in Washington D.C. on March 2, 2015. The final rule necessitates that all employees meet a minimum amount of training hours based on their position level. Additionally, there are increased education requirements that must be met when hiring new district nutrition directors.

New for the 2015-2016 school year, the professional standards rule requires school districts nationwide to record proof that their nutrition program is meeting the increased training requirements.
