Heritage Lottery Fund gives thumbs up for student project at St.Agnes Holy Well, Cothelstone

TAUNTON, U.K. - March 23, 2015 - PRLog -- The project will help the students to learn about and research the heritage and folklore surrounding this beautiful example of a 16th Century Medieval Holy Well.  This will be achieved in partnership with Bridgwater College, the local creative sector and the local community.  By engaging with an author and an artist the students will learn about the cultural and natural heritage of the well and will create a ‘sound walk’.  The ‘sound walk,’ artwork and creative writing produced by the students will then be produced as an app for smart and android applications for everyone to enjoy.  The students will also be cultivating plants found in Medieval times to enhance the beauty of St.Agnes.

Debbie McKenna of Community Life Design who will manage the project said, “we are excited to have this opportunity to broaden the scope of the students’ involvement, they have been maintaining the site for the past four years so it is wonderful to be able to reward them with such a great project, and with the app this ensures many more people will be able to learn about this valuable heritage for years to come.”  More information on the project can be found on the Facebook page ‘Well Obsessed’.
