Her love of books and language began there in a Parish library in Manchester. After moving to the U.S, she attended Le Moyne College in upstate New York. There, she obtained a Bachelors degree, with dual majors in English and Spanish. She continued her studies in Italy and thereafter completed her law degree at the University of Miami School of Law.
