By: ECI Stores “Recycling isn’t just for paper, plastic and cardboard. Consignment stores are a way to recycle clothing and items no longer used in your home. “ said Cassandra Abramson, founder of Cutie Patuties children’s consignment store, “Giving kids the opportunity to learn more about recycling and about being kinder to the earth fits perfectly with what we are all about.” The 2nd annual Earth Day Celebration will take place on Saturday, April 25th from 2:00-4:00pm in front of the Cutie Patuties Kids Consignment store in the Johnny Appleseed Plaza at 1021 Central Street, Leominster, MA. The event is free for kids and all families are invited. The first official Earth Day on April 22, 1970 is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement, or “going green”. The passage of the landmark Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act and many other groundbreaking environmental laws soon followed. Growing out of the first Earth Day, Earth Day Network (EDN) works with over 22,000 partners in 192 countries to broaden, diversify and mobilize the environmental movement. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world. Call 978-534-6604 for more details. End
