Bobby+April Opens Showroom in Carytown, Richmond, VA

RICHMOND, Va. - April 8, 2015 - PRLog -- It was a great night for Bobby+April, the concierge real estate and renovation firm that opened a new office in the Carytown area of Richmond, Virginia.  The opening night cocktail party featured foods and wines from local restaurant, Amour Wine Bistro, and was attended by over 100 clients, friends and vendors.

“It’s been am amazing journey from where we started,’ commented April Straus, one of the founding partners.  “We’ve been using our home as our base for the past two years, and honestly, I am tired of sitting on the bed working!”  Bobby Hicks, the other partner laughs, “We needed some separation from work and home, but somehow April has decorated the office to look exactly like where we live.”

Again pulling from the neighborhood, the storefront is an eclectic mix of styles and colors.  Ruth and Ollie furniture and accessories are evident throughout the space, and local photographer Sara Eastman’s work covers the walls.  “We really wanted to use the neighborhood as an inspiration, it’s where we live and work, and the homes in this area are our passion,” remarked Straus.

Bobby+April, an agent of Small & Associates, plans to use the space to provide comfortable place for clients to meet and discuss purchases and renovations.  “We completely changed the space – that was previously All Fired Up – to fit our specific needs and tastes.  We’ve never renovated for ourselves, and April is definitely a demanding client,” teased Hicks.  In addition, all the fixtures and finishes in the space are the type that the pair uses in their renovation projects, so the space is a showroom as well.

With over eight ongoing projects, the new space is already getting significant traffic.  “Clients love to have a glass of wine with us and check out the design,” says Straus.  “Opening night was the perfect example – although with all the people it was difficult to see anything.”
