The Down low on getting a job in Finance

SYDNEY - April 10, 2015 - PRLog -- The Down low on getting a job in Finance

Are you thinking of getting into finance, but you’re unsure about how to get into the sector due to no background or qualifications?  Follow these four pointers below to dramatically increase your chances of landing a finance job without completing a university degree.

No.1 –Undertake a study desirable to break into the finance sector

To get a job within the finance industry there are a number of numerate qualifications that are still desirable:

·      - Diploma of Accounting

·     - Certificate IV in Accounting

·      - Diploma of Business

·      - Double Diploma of Business & Management

·      - Diploma of Engineering

No. 2 Land An Internship

An internship is a great initiative to take whilst still undertaking your studies to help increase your chances of landing a job in the future.   To gain an entry-level position you aren’t expected to know much or have any experience. The internship will work to fill in your lack of experience – by providing learning experiences, references, networking opportunities and something you can talk about for future interviews.

No.3 Network

Networking is essential in any industry you may go into.  Knowing someone in the industry and having a good repour with them will help you get your foot in the door over other candidates going for the same job. Building your network can be done through gaining an internship, asking family members, friends for any worthwhile contacts you could converse with, connecting with industry people on Linkedin and Twiiter or even building a good relationship with your teacher and other students.

No.4 Immerse yourself in Finance

It’s all great undertaking a study related to finance but it’s also helpful to build your knowledge on the current financial market and trends. Through immersing yourself in a range of financial readings you will learn the correct terms and themes of this sector. Online Readings such as “The Wall Street Journal”, “The Financial Times”, “The Economist” Or “The Business Insider” are all great financial readings to add into your daily routine.
