By: Indigenous Conference Services Again, this deadly conference has attracted high quality international First Nations’ speakers from Canada and New Zealand as well as we've received abstract submissions both from every states and territories in Australia. Registration numbers are also filling fast; hence, we encourage anyone who wishes to attend the conference to register as soon as possible. More than 50 % of the accepted papers are from community-based organizations, wishing to share successes in programs implemented within their communities. One of the featured international guest speakers, epidemiologists Dr. John Huakau and Dr. Tanya Allport from New Zealand will be highlighting about how their organization, Te Whanau O Waipareira Trust – an urban Maori health and social service provider in West Auckland, New Zealand has worked within the past thirty years to become a central agent in helping whanau (families) move from crisis to stability to success. Similarly Canadian Research Scientist, Sumeet Sodhi will be presenting lessons learnt from Dignitas International (DI) - a Canadian medical and research non-government organization working with the Malawi Ministry of Health to decentralize HIV/AIDS services in Malawi, to health centres in remote and rural communities.
