Calgary Ability Network Hosts Accessible Transportation forum

Accessible Transportation plays an integral role in the lives of those living with a disability. This form is to discuss the many issues facing the community.

CALGARY, Alberta - April 16, 2015 - PRLog -- On Thursday April 16th, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm the Calgary Ability Network Transportation committee will host a community discussion on Accessible Transportation both now and for the future.

In attendance will be representatives from: Access Calgary, Calgary Transit, Checker Cabs, along with Mario Hernandez, Chief Taxi Inspector. With their help, we hope to achieve the best policies and practices around the provision of transportation services that are appropriate, accessible, affordable, equitable and inclusive of all our citizens.

This event is open to the public and we expect to have many voices from the disability community joining us.

Initiated by the Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta, CAN is a collaborative partnership involving professionals and consumers from the disability community whose main goal is to bridge the gap between the fragmented disability communities in Calgary and put forward actions plans to effectively advance policies that address persons with disabilities.
