Harris will celebrate her 105th Birthday at WoodmereRehabilitation & Health CareCenter (WR&HCC) Ms. Minnie P. Harris was born on April 10th, 1910. She was born in Clintonville, Coffee, Alabama. She was born before the advent of hearing aids, ballpoint pens and frozen food. She lived in the eras of World War I, WWII, the Korean War, Vietnam and the conflicts in the Middle East. Ms. Harris had 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Her father was a farmer and she and her family helped on the farm. At the approximate age of 25, “Ms. Minnie”, moved to Inwood, Long Island where she lived until she became a resident of WR&HCC. Ms. Minnie called Long Island her home. She worked as a domestic, married Early Flournoy and had a son Louis. Ms. Minnie attributes her longevity to having trust in God. She is a spiritual person who was an active member of her church. According to her daughter-in law Ms. Minnie Flournoy, Ms. Harris was always assisting family and friends when they needed help. She was a positive person. Ms. Debbie Flack, Administrator of WR&HCC stated that “It is an honor and a privilege to know Ms. Minnie.
