Pot Illuminati emerges on the 44th Anniversary of 420

NEW YORK - April 20, 2015 - PRLog -- For his annual 420 ceremony, author and event creator Steven Hager joined the original Cannabis Cup Band on a 420 cruise around Manhattan on Saturday, April 18th. At 4:20 PM Hager delived his annual 420 address, the state of the stoner nation. He also inducted the leader of the band, Ricky Tepperberg, into the newly formed Pot Illuminati, which is currently raising funds through an Indegogo campaign to build a Cannabis Cathedral in Colorado as a sanctuary for the cermonial use of cannabis.

The 420 code for cannabis began with the Waldos, six high school students in San Rafael High School in Marin County, California. A decade after they graduated, their younger brothers and sisters began holding a 4:20 PM ceremony on a ridge of Mt. Tamalpias overlooking the sunset on the Pacific. When Hager was editor of High Times, he found out about this ceremony while planning his first Cannabis Cups, and quickly began integrating 420 into all his events as well as his own daily life.
