Showroom and product details: www.oriornewyork.com Launching their inaugural collection of contemporary furniture, ‘new’ is the moniker Orior New York will use to introduce themselves to the city. “We’ve been working towards this launch for almost 2 years, and as the project title suggests, it is ‘new’ in its simplicity, and represents our first collection and brand new space in Williamsburg. Ideally, it provides a trigger for conversation with a new audience in a new marketplace. Our aim is to connect with Brooklyn and the New York A&D market as a whole,” says ORIOR NEW YORK director Ciaran McGuigan. Parent company Orior By Design possesses a successful 40 year contract business in Ireland and around the world, which allows ORIOR NEW YORK to stand alone as a brand new entity with its very own bespoke design collection in Brooklyn. The firm strategically opens at the beginning of New York’s Design Month on May 7th at a special, by-invitation showroom event. ICFF opens mid-month, accompanied by hundreds of New York satellite fairs and destination design industry events. “We are boldly venturing into the strongest design market in the world, with something unique. It is already a personal achievement to be here doing this,” Ciaran McGuigan added. The ORIOR NEW YORK team arrive with some pedigree. Creative Director Shane, a New York Festival medal holder, works from his design studio A Graphic Practice in Berlin, while Ciaran, Karl and Richard are all alumni of the Savannah College of Art and Design [SCAD]; hailing from Ireland, Sweden and England respectively.
