Prelude event to Annual Music Festival to benefit Punxsutawney Area Organizations

PITTSBURGH - April 21, 2015 - PRLog -- On Friday, April 24, 2015, Punxsutawney will usher in a first event of its kind to hit the small town in Western Pennsylvania, known for its beloved groundhog, Mr. Punxsutawney Phil. Unlike February 2nd events, Punxsutawney will welcome guests from out of the area for a night of entertainment and will include both independent and major label upcoming talents in an event that preludes an annual music festival. Punxsy Plugged-in’s 2015 Music Experience caters to a mixed crowd and presents music of multiple genres in front of small town audiences.

In July of 2015, Playas Mob Radio of Fort Pierce, Florida and Shorty Produkshins of Orlando will join forces yet again to bring the Punxsy Plugged-in experience back to Punxsutawney to commence an Annual Music Festival that will welcome major recording acts, high profile producers and behind-the-scenes industry executives to speak in front of the youth, enthusiastic musicians and business professionals who seek to advance their careers from entertainment and/or traditional business models.

Unlike the upcoming festival, which will be on par with most music festivals around the country, the April 24th event will last four hours and showcase talent from all over the East Coast and South Eastern United States. The July event will take place between 2 and 3 days and include more bands and more genres of music. Vendors, corporate and local, will also be able to get involved.

Introducing “Shut it Down” and a few other tracks from his upcoming debut, Whyte Henny of London Rowe Music joins Punxsy Plugged-in’s super talented roster of performers as a major headliner. Whyte Henny is currently working with “The Specialist,” who is known for his work with Pink, and The Newton Twins, known for their work with Lauryn Hill on “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” which was just inducted into the Library of Congress. Also joining the roster is headliner, Nicolette, who is known for her earlier affiliations with LL Cool J as his young protege and has now grown into a beautiful, vibrant young lady.

Artists to be on the lookout for at this event include: Ron Good Hogan, one of the promoters of the prelude event, Angee Gonzalez, Cannonball Chris, UpTop Fette, Kemickal, Mike Tomlin, Ibneza, Shandell Crutchfield, Kennedy Vaughn, Hail Mary, Reach the Masses, Flowlife and DJ Dondi.

This event benefits the Punxsutawney Athletic Foundation and the Punxsutawney Community Center for upgrades to the Stadium and Auditoriums in those centers.

While we have a strong commitment to the community,  we are also committed to supporting major upcoming and independent acts. Many of the acts joining us have already found International and/or National success and have committed themselves to bringing a unique music experience to Punxsutawney, PA.

We are dedicated to bringing a positive impact to the local area. Through our prelude event, we aim to bring an annual music festival to Western Pennsylvania. This event promotes a positive drug-free, alcohol-free environment, building memories to last a lifetime.

The prelude event includes Rock and Country acoustic performances, as well as soulful R&B, Gospel and Hip Hop (Pop).

Our festival in July will include full bands of all genres, including Rock (multiple sub genres), Country, R&B, Gospel, Hip Hop, Pop, Rock N Soul, Reggae and more! We intend on stepping it up a notch come “game time,” starting  you out with just a “taste” of what’s in store for our future event.
