Novotel Century Hong Kong Announced Donation to YMCA of Hong Kong

WAN CHAI, Hong Kong - April 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Last year, Novotel Century made the commitment to donate $2 per customer to YMCA of Hong Kong from Christmas program in all outlets between 10 December 2014 and 1 January 2015. The total amount of donation raised was $13392. A donation presentation ceremony was organized at the hotel and Eric Au Yeung, Division Manager for Community Services of the YMCA of Hong Kong was invited to receive the donation on 25 August at Novotel Century Hong Kong.

In announcing the donation at the ceremony at Novotel Century Hong Kong, Darren Cann, General Manager of the hotel commented, “Novotel Century Hong Kong is proud to be the partner with the YMCA of Hong Kong for 8 consecutive years. We are also extremely happy to give the donation to two main projects including Organic Farm in Tung Chung and BOSS Mentorship Programme running by the YMCA of Hong Kong in 2014. I believe that under the leadership of the YMCA of Hong Kong, these two programs should make our community greener and brighter. ”

YMCA of Hong Kong always shares the same vision with Novotel on sustainable development.  Novotel Century Hong Kong has sophisticated environmental program.  On the other hand, the YMCA of Hong Kong has the organic farm for educating the public how tree planting help protect the environment.

Same as the Novotel, the YMCA of Hong Kong is always keen to support local underpriviledged children. The BOSS Mentorship Programme provides for the participated children more opportunities for personal development through the establishment and practice program to them.  It also encourages these children to develop the habit of establishing assets, both the financial savings and non-financial assets (such as a positive attitude and the right ideas, personal skills, and social networks).

It is an ongoing goal of Novotel Century Hong Kong to support the well-being of the community, employees and environment in Hong Kong. The company has proven and track record in a range of community activities: the Christmas party for children from single parent families(2002) and Douce France in Hong Kong(2003), Charity Christmas Buffet for senior citizens supported by St James Settlement(2003- 2014), partnership with YMCA to launch Dining Etiquette Workshop for children from low-income families since 2009, Tree Planting Day (2010-2013), Christmas Donation to Chi Heng Foundation (2010-2013) and Coins Donation to Chi Heng Foundation (2009-2014) and the latest moon cake donation program working with Orbis Hong Kong (2014).
