Follow on Google News | Winchester Grange to host Cherry Brook Chimes Bell Choir on May 12thBy: Winchester Grange There is no admission charge, but those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to local area food banks and soup kitchens. You do not have to be a Grange member to attend - the evening is open to everyone. The Cherry Brook Chimes Bell Choir was organized in 1982, and since has been active in the First Congregational Church of Canton Center by not only providing music for regular church services, but performing at various other venues and festivals throughout New England. The choir consists of five octaves of bells and 4 octaves of chimes. The program will include a cross-section of music with everything from beautifully arranged hymns and classics to Broadway hits and newly-composed bell pieces. Formed January 2, 1888, the Grange is one of the largest Community Granges east of the Mississippi River in membership, and is extremely active in the Winchester Center community, holding numerous programs and events year-round.
