WAYLAND, Mass. - May 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Wayland, MA (May 8, 2015) Gil Wolin, publisher of Business Aviation Advisor, was honored today by the Corporate Angel Network (CAN) for more than three decades of support for the cancer patient airlift program, as he leaves its Advisory Board after 15 years of service.

Randall Greene, CAN Chairman and President and CEO of Safe Flight Instrument Corporation, said:

“On behalf of Corporate Angel Network’s Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, I want to personally thank you for your 15 years of support as a member of CAN’s Advisory Board.

“We recognize your commitment to CAN, and in particular, your initiative in the Corporate Angel Award. This award continues to be instrumental in CAN’s ability to arrange business jet flights for tens of thousands of cancer patients to the best possible treatment for their specific type of cancer. Many lives have been prolonged as a result.”

Wolin developed the Corporate Angel Award in 2002 while serving as publisher of Business & Commercial Aviation (B/CA), in support of Chevron’s aviation fuels marketing program. The quarterly Award continues today, recognizing the corporate flight department that flies the most CAN trips. Wolin continued his support after leaving B/CA, with regular reports on CAN activities in his World Aircraft Sales/AvBuyer monthly column through 2014.

A 43-year corporate aviation industry veteran, Wolin began working with CAN in 1985. That year, as marketing vice president for the Combs Gates FBO chain, he recommended that the six bases institute a fuel discount for any aircraft flying a CAN flight – and they did.

“I’m pleased to have played a role in CAN’s success over the past several decades, and look forward to continuing to support it at Business Aviation Advisor,” Wolin said.
