Asheville Church Welcomes New Pastor

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - May 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Jones was born near Manchester, England and spent several years in Munich, Germany before returning to the UK where he worked for 11 years as an attorney specializing in corporate law.

In 2006, sensing the call to leave his law practice and enter the ministry, Martin and his family moved to Dallas where he completed a Masters of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and earned the Chuck Swindoll Expository Preaching Award. His personal mission is “to make and mature followers of Jesus.” Martin’s passionate and engaging delivery and his penchant for relevant sermon content provide a compelling experience for those who are followers of Christ as well as for those seeking to know more about Christianity and the claims of Christ.

Martin’s wife, Fiona, has Scottish ancestry. She was born in England and spent most of her life living there until moving to the states in 2007. She holds a Master’s Degree in English from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and is a certified High School English teacher. The Jones have two teenage children, Nathan and Olivia.

Passionate about engaging culture, Martin believes the role of every Christian is to take the timeless truth of the gospel and make it known in a way that people today can understand and apply it. You'll often hear him quote 1 Corinthians 9:22, "I have become all things to all people so that by all means possible some might be saved."
