To accommodate the company’s continued growth and strategy to diversify into new areas it has moved to Calleva Park, one of the most widely known and popular business parks in the Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke triangle.

With strong engineering and maintenance backgrounds, the surveyors at Red Current have always specialised in providing thermal imaging surveys in support of mechanical and electrical (M & E) maintenance strategies. With customers ranging from offshore oil and gas installations to facility services management companies, Red Current has developed a survey approach and reporting methodology that meets the requirements expected by Insurance Companies, Safety Auditors, Maintenance/Engineering Managers.

With Part L of the Building Regulations and sustainability assessments such as BREEAM requiring thermal imaging surveys of buildings to demonstrate compliance. Red Current has seen a huge growth in this area, almost competing with the amount of electrical thermal imaging surveys it completes throughout the year.

Relatively new to its portfolio, thermal imaging camera hire has now been introduced. With a full range of specifications and prices; building surveyors, electricians, plumbers and even domestic users can now access the invisible world of infrared to assist with a wide variety of uses. Typical applications include electrical inspections, building heatloss analysis, locating missing cavity wall insulation, under floor heating issues and locating water leaks. However since offering this service, customers have hired cameras for more unusual applications such as using them to count rare bat populations and to assist with creating images for an art dissertation.
