Alzheimer's Caregiver Project series of educational classes start in Winter Park, Florida

WINTER PARK, Fla. - May 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Visiting Angels Homecare has partnered with Arden Courts Memory Care Community and Vitas Healthcare. This partnership allows the “Alzheimer’s Caregiver Project” classes to be available at no cost to any Alzheimer’s or other related dementia caregiver in the community.

The “Alzheimer’s Caregiver Project” is a series of six classes addressing the unique issues of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. The classes are once a month for six months and this series is starting June 2, 2015 at the Peggy and Phillip B. Crosby Center YMCA, 2005 Mizell Ave., Winter Park, FL 32792.

The classes are modeled in order of what a caregiver will go through once their loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other related dementia. Professionals in each field will be presenting the following classes: Understanding Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias, Legal and Financial Matters, Choices of Care (Community Resources), Surviving Challenging Behaviors, Medication Management, and Medications/Research.
