Follow on Google News | Dudu Fisher Headlines “Evening of Song and Solidarity”Broadway singer Dudu Fisher will headline an “Evening of Song and Solidarity” at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Special guest is Tony Orlando.
Headlined by Israeli-born singer and Broadway star Dudu Fisher, the program will have the theme “Stand Strong! Stand Proud!” The program is being billed as an entertaining, inspiring and unifying experience for the Southern California Jewish Community. Fisher’s eclectic musical repertoire includes songs from “Fiddler on the Roof,” Elvis, Broadway and Ashkenazic and Sephardic selections. In 1986, after landing the lead role of Jean Valjean in the Hebrew version of the hit musical “Les Miserables,” The event will feature a special appearance by American entertainer Tony Orlando. He will be receiving the evening’s Voice of Courage Award in recognition of his support on behalf of Israel and American patriotism. Orlando visited with the families of the three Israeli teenagers who were kidnapped last summer and he made a public plea for their safe return. Upon receiving the award, Orlando will perform some American and Jewish favorites, including duets with Fisher. The program will also mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the concentration camps with a memorial tribute to the 6-million Jews who died in the Holocaust. Martin and Sandi Glade will receive the Champions of the Spirit Award. Martin Glade, whose parents and five out of six siblings died at Auschwitz, is a survivor of concentration camps.
