Not only is he one of the co-trainers for Floyd Mayweather, Jr., he stands as the only native Chicago boxer to ever take the podium in the history of the Olympic Games (Atlanta 1996, Bronze). Jones captured the NABA Heavyweight Title in 2000 and fought for the WBO/NABO Heavyweight Title in 2002. Subsequent to his WBO/NABO Championship bout with Lamon Brewster, medical doctors diagnosed Jones with diminished reflexes and speech, forcing him to retire as a boxer. Currently, Jones serves as a co-trainer to Floyd Mayweather, Jr., his friend from the U.S. Olympic Games. He was recently seen in Showtime's "Inside Mayweather vs Pacquiao" training Floyd and discussing their friendship and Olympic experiences together.
