Cycle Safety System wins Commercial Motor Innovation Award 2015 - Exeros Technologies

WELLING, U.K. - June 8, 2015 - PRLog -- 100 cyclists died on urban roads during the year of 2013, this prompted FORS and CLOCS initiatives to combat the issue, by ensuring every fleet in the UK was responsible for the safety of their vehicles on UK roads.

Acknowledging this need to make UK roads safer, Exeros invested heavily in developing a new product that could solve this crisis. What they came up with proved to be ground breaking and will help save lives.

The product revolves around a camera system that utilises a unique algorithm to distinguish cyclists, from anything else it sees on the roads. This helps alleviate the problem of false alarms in the cab due to drivers being warned of road furniture and other objects, an issue experienced with older technology, leading to the problem of drivers ignoring the warnings. With ground breaking technology drivers have full awareness of potential risks.  The product has demonstrated an unheralded level of accuracy in detecting vulnerable road user. This technology is set to revolutionise HGV travel in urban areas.

Unveiled at Tip-ex 2015 the choice of winner was easy for the judges with a unanimous decision.
