About the Authors

Ivory Tower Cop is a chilling, suspenseful thriller inspired by the true story of Dr. George Kirkham's transformation from university professor to cop. Dr. Kirkham described the ice-water shock of that experience in his best-selling autobiography Signal Zero. Acclaimed as "an honor to his profession," by the late William F. Buckley Jr., Dr. Kirkham has been the subject of a 60 Minutes segment with Dan Rather, as well as feature articles in Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report and People. he has also made numerous national television appearances, including MSNBC and ABC's Good Morning America. He is currently Professor Emeritus at Florida State University College of Criminology and Criminal Justice. As a criminologist, he has trained police officers throughout the nation and regularly testifies as an expert witness in major cases.

Dr. Leonard Territo is a veteran rape and homicide detective who is co-author of the nation's most widely used criminal investigation text. A former police administrator, he served as a key advisor during the Ted Bundy murder investigation and trains police officers on a variety of subjects. He has authored many criminology texts used to instruct police in both the United States and other countries. The 10th edition of his Criminal Investigation was recently translated by McGraw-Hill for use by China's police.
