The message for the World Yoga day by Guru Syed Sallauddin Pasha, “Yoga is for all without discrimination of abled and disabled.....equality unites the Society”.

National award-winner Guru Syed Sallauddin Pasha, a Guinness World Records holder dedicated 30 years of his life for the well being of the persons with disabilities by innovating and creating Yoga on the wheelchairs. He dedicates “Yoga on Wheelchairs” for the people with Disabilities who can benefit, adopt and practice the ancient yoga using the wheelchairs and crutches, which is first of its kind in the world. He has achieved this by teaching them to unite the body, mind, soul and seek inner peace while improving self-confidence.

Wheelchair Yoga is a practice from India which embraces each individual as unique and beautiful.  Consequently, each exercise (called a Yoga pose) is an expression of the individual.  Therefore, just as no two people are the same, no two poses are the same.  When performing Yoga in a wheelchair, each individual should work toward expressing the pose to his or her fullest capability while honouring his or her limitations.
