Follow on Google News | ![]() Malaysian TV Selects Indiana Composer to Score Reality Show Kampung Quest Second SeasonBy: Phil Larson Music In October 2014 Kampung Quest producers Iskander and Feisal Azizuddin, contacted Larson after hearing some of his songs on the online stock audio marketplace, AudioJungle.net. Larson's style was the exact sound they were looking for this season. "It's an honor to be a part of what of the Azizuddin brothers are doing,” states composer Phil Larson Anderson, Indiana USA. “The more I get to know about the Malaysian entertainment industry, the more I see they are changing the way things are produced in their region. It's truly revolutionary. If you support Kampung Quest, you are supporting an exciting new movement.” Kampung Quest is a thrilling reality show, similar to the popular U.S. program, Survivor. The season takes ten people from urban areas throughout Malaysia (Urbanites) and places them in Malaysia's beautiful and untamed rural areas. The Quests challenge the Urbanites physically, mentally, and socially with the goal of giving the viewer a greater understanding of authentic Malaysian culture. At the end of each episode a losing team member is eliminated during a campfire ceremony à la Survivor with the last remaining Urbanite winning. "For the soundtrack of Season Two, I wanted to create a sound that marries Asian ethnicity with Hollywood cinema,” says Larson. “A flute authentic to Asian culture called a Ney Flute, paired with the epic Hollywood string riffs and horn lines, reoccur throughout giving the soundtrack its unique, best-of-both- https://youtu.be/ Larson has been creating music for over fifteen years. In 2012 he teamed up with production house, The Story Shop, where he has been able to further explore and hone his craft.
