IceLogix Announces Partnership with Clean Ice Boston Initiative

Initiative Focuses on Unsanitary Ice Machines in Boston Restaurants
By: IceLogix

BOSTON - June 24, 2015 - PRLog -- IceLogix announced today its participation in an initiative that will positively affect the quality of ice in Boston’s restaurants, schools, and health care facilities. Clean Ice Boston will begin to address the widespread problem of unsanitary ice makers and contaminated ice machines.

Joe Lillis, founder of IceLogix, has been in the ice manufacturing business for more than thirty years, and he is one of the nation’s foremost experts in ice manufacturing and proper ice machine sanitation. IceLogix is a specialized consulting company that trains and advises foodservice, healthcare, and biotech companies on the proper use, management, and oversight of refrigeration/HVAC systems and equipment. IceLogix also trains HVAC service company personnel in how to properly clean and sanitize ice machines.

“To put it nicely, 95% of commercial ice machines are either improperly cleaned or not cleaned and sanitized at the proper intervals to keep them clean,” Lillis said. “This problem is everywhere, and it’s growing despite restaurants paying independent HVAC service professionals thousands of dollars to do this job for them.”

Beginning July 1, 2015, IceLogix will begin complimentary assessments of commercial ice machines in Boston. The company will provide free suggestions for cleaning and sanitizing these specialized pieces of equipment. This will help restaurants ensure that their service companies are actually cleaning the ice machines properly and that their patrons are consuming safe, healthy ice.

“Everyone deserves to have clean ice, but the system has failed. While health departments work tirelessly to keep the food supply safe, they seldom inspect or test the inner refrigeration mechanisms or water circuits of commercial ice machines,” Lillis added. “They are not expected or trained to do so, and it would take far too much time for overtaxed and underfunded inspectors to complete this task at so many locations.”

Assessments are 100% confidential, performed free of charge, and completed on a first-come, first-served basis. Businesses that are interested in the risk-free assessment are welcome to fill out the form at www.CleanIceBoston.com.
