Follow on Google News | New FluidRay 3D Renderer Release Upgrades 3ds Max Import, Adds .STL Files, Improves Scene EditingVersion 1.1.5 of real-time 3D rendering software focuses on versatility. The latest version gives users more import options and better control of scenes and environments.
By: FluidRay “With 1.1.5, we looked at how the software was being used and identified opportunities to better support certain use cases. We wanted to make the software more adaptable to common working environments.” “New, enhanced .FBX import and an easy-to-use MaxScript, gives users a better quality export from 3ds Max and makes importing into FluidRay much easier.” noted Candussi. The team then took the opportunity to help jewelry and product designers. Version 1.1.5 introduces support for .STL files which our commonly used by jewelry designers, but are also popular for 3D printing and rapid prototyping. Alberto Candussi, cofounder pointed out that, “.STL files are extremely versatile, and are especially useful for modeling geometries like the facets of a stone. We like to think the .STL support will be a big help to jewelry designers in particular, but it’s a format that gets used in plenty of other industries too.” In addition to the .FBX and .STL support, the new version also incorporates the latest Embree ray-tracing engine (2.5.1), and several UX enhancements including a new object importing mechanism. With the new version, objects are imported as separate entities when importing scenes – meaning you can edit individual objects after scene import. According to Nicola Candussi, “This release is about adapting the software to our users instead of having them adapt to us. The changes will make a big difference in how you render – both the sources and the processes -- and should make rendering easier.” About FluidRay: FluidRay RT is a super-fast, real-time 3D rendering program developed by FluidInteractive, a maker of specialized software. The program is designed to be used as either a standalone renderer or with popular design software like Rhinoceros 3D, Sketchup, and Shade3D. Visit http://www.fluidray.com/ End
