By: CauseTap The app lets users rally support and raise money for schools, community groups and other nonprofits just by downloading mobile apps – at no extra cost. “CauseTap removes the financial barriers that many younger, socially conscious people face and allows them to make a positive impact at any time of day, doing something they normally do. This is grassroots crowd-philanthropy in action, using apps as currency,” said Andrea Nylund, co-founder of CauseTap. When a user downloads an app through CauseTap, a payment from the participating app publisher is triggered, and 60 percent goes to the cause selected. Even downloads of free apps benefit causes, as the payments by app publishers are not tied to the purchase price of the apps. All types of apps are available through CauseTap – from games and entertainment to social messaging. Users can browse apps featured by a particular nonprofit, such as ALS Association or Kiva, and popular among other supporters. Social sharing through CauseTap makes it easy for users to take the lead in growing support for causes. Collective impact is updated in real-time. “Digital giving is the way of the future, and CauseTap’s inclusive approach empowers individuals to get behind the causes and communities they care about without requiring more than a smartphone,” CauseTap is available for free from the Google Play store (Android). The iOS version will be available later this year. About CasueTap: CauseTap is a mobile app advertising platform with social impact.
