Greensburg BJJ Black Belt Competes In Las Vegas

GREENSBURG, Pa. - July 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Greensburg, Pa based martial arts instructor, Professor Casey Leonard of Pennsylvania Combat Sports http://www.pacombatsports.com , recently made his competition debut in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Division.

Competing at the Jiu Jitsu World League Tournament in Las Vegas on May 9th, 2015 he would fulfil a life long dream.

" stepping onto the mats for the first time, as a black belt, was just surreal." noted Leonard.

With a submission hold or choke being the ultimate goal in any Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu match, Professor Casey Leonard made a statement by rendering his first opponent unconscious.

Casey added, "I went out there planning to do my very best, and with this level of competition, anything can happen. I didn't necessarily expect that outcome, but its the nature of jiu-jitsu...chokes are a serious technique."

Making his way to the finals, he found himself facing an expereinced veteran who traveled from Brazil to compete. With a tough match that went the distance, Casey would come up short with a loss by points.

"Every competitor wants that gold medal at the end of the day, but its not always going to happen. I felt alright with my performance, it was more about getting out there and testing the black belt waters."

With any "debut jitters" now over, we'll be looking forward to his upcoming results in the black belt divisions of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition.
