Follow on Google News | Hymnal For the Cannabis GenerationSteven Hager has released a book of songs for use by marijuana-friendly spiritual communities.
By: Abakus Media On July 4th, 2015, Hager published Let Your Mind Be Free, a compilation of songs for use in ceremony and ritual. The book and songs will debut at the Abakus Munchie Cup at Green Labs in Denver from July 24-26. The songbook includes an introduction about the first pyschedelic rock band in Illinois, The Finchley Boys, who remain relatively unknown today, but had a huge impact in the Midwest from 1967 to 1970. Eighteen songs are included in the book and they are presented in chronological order beginning with Nottamun Town, which is believed to have originated in the 1500's in England. Many songs are based on Protestant hymns, while the more contemporay songs are parodies of modern anthems for the psychedelic revolution.
