Reception Being Held For Louisiana Senate Candidate Gerald Boudreaux

LAFAYETTE, La. - July 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Attorneys Clyde R. Simien and Rickey W. Miniex will host a reception for Louisiana State Senate District 24 candidate Gerald Boudreaux at their law firm located at 104 Rue Iberville, Lafayette, Louisiana.  Members of the business community, media and community members at large are invited to the reception which will serve as a meet and greet for the candidate.

Boudreaux currently serves as the Director of the Parks & Recreation Department for the Lafayette Consolidated Government. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from UL-Lafayette in 1982. His employment with the department dates back to May 1978, and he held several positions prior to being appointed departmental director in 1985.

His community and civic work includes:  past member of the United Way of Acadiana, having served as President in the past; member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce; charter member of Kiwanis-Southwest LA, having served as President in the past; past member and chairman of Board of Directors for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center; members of the Board of Directors of the Miles Perret Cancer Services Center and its healing ministry; member and past Board Member of the Ragin Cajun Athletic Foundation; member and chairperson of the Martin Luther King Holiday Committee; member of Board of Directors of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame; Trustee and member of Board of Directors for the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.  In addition to his community and civic responsibilities, Boudreaux was active as a college basketball official from 1984 until 2006, and was selected to work the Final Four five times during his career.  He also served as the Coordinator of Men’s Basketball Officials for the Southeastern Conference from 2006 through 2013. His wife Carlos and he, along with daughters Brittney, Whittney, and Hallie, are members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, where he serves as a “Trustee.”
