Chiropractor in Apex, NC Has a New Twist on Treating Old Injuries

APEX, N.C. - July 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Apex, NC Chiropractor, Dr. Cari Case of Case Chiropractic, Inc., has started using Injury Recall Technique to help her patients recover from injuries, both new and old.  When someone receives an injury, our body learns to compensate for that injury.  For example, if you sprain your ankle you start walking in a way that keeps pressure off of that injured ankle.  Your body is only supposed to adapt to that injury for a short period of time.  However, your body will sometimes maintain that adaption even after the injured tissues heal.  Injury Recall Technique (IRT) is a system of examination and treatment that locates and eliminates memory associated with and the adaptation caused by the injury.

Upon adding IRT to her practice, Dr. Case stated, “With Injury Recall Technique we are going to be able to alleviate symptoms from both chronic and acute injuries.  With this gentle procedure, we can restore muscle balance, relieve pain and restore normal motion to the injured area.”   When your body has an injury or trauma, there is a muscle response – think of how you move your hand away from a hot stove.  This is how your body was designed to help protect you from further injury.  When the injury is serious enough or lasts long enough, the muscles remember that response as their “new normal”.  This can lead to symptoms that can be corrected with Injury Recall Technique.

Injury Recall technique was initially developed by the late Robert Crotty, DPM and was expanded upon by his colleague, Gordon Bronston, DPM.  In the late 1980’s, Water Schmitt, D.C., DIBAK, DABCN made further contributions to the technique by adding manual muscle testing procedures and more fully describing the concept in terms of modern neurology.
