Lowe’s Heroes Program Honors Family Promise

DENVER - July 22, 2015 - PRLog -- The Lowe’s Heroes program transformed a backyard garden at Family Promise of Greater Denver this month.

The retailer coordinates community service projects across the nation, donating thousands of volunteer hours to local organizations every year.

“We are incredibly grateful to Lowe’s for selecting us as a Heroes project recipient,” said Jolynn Snyder, executive director at Family Promise. “Lowe’s team members really are heroes – they converted our backyard and outdoor space into a welcoming environment for the homeless families we serve. These families are in the midst of a personal crisis, and this new space makes them feel comfortable as they build a brighter future.”

Lowe’s of Lakewood donated a new mower, flowers, watering systems and other items valued at $1,000 in contributions.

“We have a strong tradition of volunteering,” according to Lowe’s Heroes. “Whether participating in community revitalization efforts after a disaster, conducting how-to clinics to help community members develop construction skills, helping out at K-12 schools or simply cleaning up local parks and beaches, Lowe’s employees are always there to lend a hand.”
