CHICAGO - July 23, 2015 - PRLog -- The C.H.A.M.P. Community Project, a Chicago-based not-for-profit organization, provides self-development and self-empowerment educational programs focused on the emotional and mental well-being of individuals (adults and teens) who are living in single parent environments. Each year the organization holds fundraisers for its annual events. The organization has teamed up with True Form Films and The Harper Theatre for a Wine & Cheese Red Carpet reception and special screening of the Indie film “After School.”

The C.H.A.M.P. Community Project is a 501 (c) (3) organization founded by Traci S. Campbell, who is an social entrepreneur based in Chicago, IL. The C.H.A.M.P. Community Project, through principles involving Character, Happiness, Attitude, Mentality, and Purpose promotes self-development education and provides solutions to the problems that are most important to individuals and the communities where they live— C.H.A.M.P. helps real people facing real challenges find real solutions to overcome these problems. In conjunction with their generous sponsors and community partners, they provide these solutions via free live training, books, and workbooks born from the principles of The C.H.A.M.P. Within Program. The goal is to empower participants to create a better life through practices that offer long term results and true control over their lives and futures.

Each year, the organization holds fundraisers for its annual events. This summer, C.H.A.M.P. is hosting a movie screening for an award-winning Indie film, “After School” presented by True Form Films. This special screening and fundraiser will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Harper Theatre (www.harpertheater.com), located at 5238 Harper Avenue, Chicago, IL 60615. The event starts promptly at 5:45pm with the Red Carpet and Wine & Cheese Reception, and the screening will start at 6:40pm which will be followed by a Q&A. The event is sponsored and hosted by Hyde Park and proceeds will benefit the C.H.A.M.P. Community Project. Donations are $20 and $18 of which are tax deductible. Ticket price includes admission, inclusion in the Wine & Cheese Reception, one order of popcorn and a soft drink. There will also be valet parking available for $5 for convenience.

“After School” is a dynamic and compelling story of a young teen battling some very powerful demons and is forced to make some desperate choices to make himself heard. Movie synopsis: A gun shot is heard after school, minutes later, Jacky, a twelve year old is discovered alone holding a gun, with an unexplained splash of blood on his shirt. 911 is called and Sergeant Olivia Hanson is the first officer on the scene, due to budget cuts and police strike, Hanson is the only officer in charge for quite a while. Jacky refuses to give up his stand off and will only talk with a Michael Brooks, a former after school program teacher who is unemployed now, under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Hanson and Brooks are forced to work together in order to find the answers to this mysterious situation. On this heart pounding afternoon Jacky, Michael and Olivia are changed forever.
