Follow on Google News | NJ Diversity Leaders Unite to Launch the #Change15Coming MovementYouth, educators & corporate volunteers gathered at the Lead for Diversity Institute to create diversity Action Plans that will impact our future!
Held at the Poconos Environmental Education Center in Dingmans Ferry, Pa., the six-day residential learning session kicks off a yearlong initiative designed to promote unity, increase diversity and inclusion awareness, and ensure respect for people of all races, faiths, ethnicities, sexual identities/expressions, ability status, and ages. During the week, teams of students took a journey into diversity that included large and small group discussions, workshops, experiential learning activities, and more. During the experience the students were joined by corporate volunteers from BASF, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Investors Bank, and L’Oréal USA who, along with school advisors, participated in developing Action Plans to address challenges specific to their schools and/or school districts. The students will start implementing their plans when they return to school in a few weeks. The successful implementation of these plans has the potential to reach more than 20,000 New Jersey students, educators, and community members.
