Society for Academic CME to celebrate Dave Davis’ 40 Years of Service to the Field

BALTIMORE - Aug. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- The Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME) announces the 2015 SACME Fall Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, November 12-13. The conference theme, Integrating Quality Improvement into Existing CME/CPD Frameworks, will provide the basis for several interactive educational sessions.  The highlight for the 2015 conference will be the celebration of 40 years of service of Dave Davis, MD, currently the Senior Director of Continuing Education and Performance Improvement at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).  Prior to joining the Association, Dr. Davis held leadership positions at the University of Toronto and McMaster University, and helped create numerous programs related to competency assessment, improved physician performance, and the translation of best evidence into practice. Dr. Davis is a family physician by training, a well-known scholar in the field of continuing education and performance improvement, and the author of roughly 200 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, monographs, and similar publications on effective continuing education.

SACME is a nonprofit organization with a vision to be the premier academic continuing medical and interprofessional education society that advances the field of continuing education in the best interest of patients and communities.  The mission of the organization is to promote the highest value in patient care and health of the public through the scholarship of continuing medical and interprofessional education.
