By: StangBangers.com And yet still unmistakably a Mustang. The all-new design clearly inspired by 50 years of Mustang heritage has evolved to attract a wider array of fanboys (and girls), including those past our own shores. Our Stang had the mighty 5.0-liter V8 engine, which flexes its muscles with 435 hp and 400 lb.-ft. torque. Hard to tell which comes faster… 0 to 60, or 0 to speeding ticket, if you’re not careful. The transmission in our tester was the six-speed SelectShift® A new fully independent suspension keeps the tires and asphalt in close contact, no matter how fast you dare to take a sharp curve on a pothole-riddled road. Ford has definitely set new performance and dynamic benchmarks for themselves. The handling is superb. The steering very precise. All while maintaining a comfortable ride. The GT Performance Package adds low-profile summer tires for superior grip, and some of the most capable Mustang brakes ever for stopping power to match the go-power. The all-new interior features improved ergonomics and controls, executed with upgraded materials and craftsmanship. Recaro seats keep you in position, even if you manage to get the car going sideways. Speaking of getting sideways, there is a lot of Safety equipment designed to keep you safe: - AdvanceTrac® - Eight airbags (fastback models), including industry-first passenger knee airbag system packaged inside the glove box door - MyKey® programmable vehicle key with support for up to four fobs - Individual Tire Pressure Monitoring System - Adaptive collapsible steering column Selectable Drive Modes are only a toggle switch away, and one tap quickly adjusts steering effort, engine response, and transmission and electronic stability control settings, offering the driver the flexibility to be driving the perfect Mustang for any occasion (city driving, twisty back road, weekend track day) without ever getting out of the car. The audio system probably works great. We opted to listen to the intoxicating exhaust sounds instead. At one point a guy in a late-model Corvette Z-something pulled up next to us to tell us that we had a “nice car”. We never even had to show them our stinger.
