Follow on Google News | Waukesha Choral Union Launches 2015-16 seasonMichael Chapel, with extensive experience leading local adult and youth choral groups, will lead the 40-member WCU’s 42nd season with concerts that explore friendship and community, the rich texture of Christmas fare, the beauty of Messiah and the multi-cultural fabric of classics and folk songs. The concerts include: “With Friends, ” featuring Waukesha Children’s Chorus and Muskego High School Concert Choir with Mozart’s Missa Brevis at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 17, 2015 at St. William Parish, 440 Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. “Songs of the Season,” featuring traditional and new arrangements of seasonal hymns, plus madrigals and motets of the season. Offered twice: 3 p.m. Dec. 6, 2015 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha, WI 53186. Also 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11, 2015 at St. Catherine of Alexandria, W359 N8512 Brown St., Oconomowoc, WI 55086. “Messiah,” “Classics and Folk Songs,” featuring Faure’s “Requiem and folk songs from North, South and Central America, at 7:30 p.m. May 7, at Humphrey Chapel/Art Center – Carroll University, 238 N. East Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Season tickets are $40 for adults; $32 for seniors over 60; $20 for students and $10 for youth under 12.
